As is often the case, a motor show’s collection of models shines as brightly as the show stars themselves. The Indonesian International Motor Show 2013 excelled in both departments, with a stellar assembly of head turning cars and gorgeous, stop-you-in-your-tracks showgirls.
We’ve covered the first half (the one with wheels) quite extensively this past week – check out our complete IIMS 2013 show coverage here – and now, wrapping things up to a fitting close, is time for a large gallery of the girls. You’ve been waiting for this one, haven’t you all?
But first, a quick recap of the automobiles: headlining acts include world premieres of the Brio-based Honda Mobilio, Datsun GO+ and eight Daihatsu concepts (DR-Estate, UFC-2, NC-Y, NC-Z, CUV and Ayla GT, Luxury and X-Track). Keep a close eye on the Daihatsus – future Perodua models may be based on them.
Japanese automakers are taking the annual Jakarta show very seriously now. And why shouldn’t they? The Indonesian automotive industry is on a steep upward trajectory; the booming market big enough to entice foreign brands such as Renault, Fiat and even Tata to have a presence there.
The root of their flourishing industry is no other than the government-led Low-Cost and Green Car (LCGC) programme. Quick to take advantage of the tax breaks offered are the Toyota Agya, Daihatsu Ayla, Honda Brio Satya, Suzuki Karimun Wagon R and soon, the Daihatsu GO and GO+.
As far as ASEAN motor shows go, this one is a tough act to follow. Our own Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2013 is up next in November, before the Tokyo Motor Show 2013 wraps the year off. Err… Hello, is anyone still reading this? Very well, then. Enjoy the gallery below :)
