These are the clearest photos yet of the upcoming BMW 4-Series GranCoupe, the third body type of the BMW 4-Series after the Coupe and the Convertible. Like the 6-Series GranCoupe, it’s essentially a four door version of its two-door sibling.
You may question the need for a 4-Series GranCoupe since the 3-Series and 4-Series are so similiar. After all, the 3-Series and 4-Series look very much alike with near identical interiors as well, as opposed to the big difference between the 5-Series and the 6-Series. But BMW seems to think there’s enough differentiation.

As you can see from the images the 4-Series GranCoupe has a more cab rearward look compared to the 4-Series, with the roofline above the C-pillar having a more sloping design. The car looks wider and the lower roof gives the impression that its; longer as well – we wonder if the wheelbase has been extended like what BMW did with the 3-Series GT.
Other than the different side profile and the wider front/rear view, everything else as predictable – we even see the same front bumper as the 4-Series Coupe on the car which is probably why BMW didn’t bother putting any disguise on the front.
